I’ll be braving the cold water daily to raise awareness of the fab ocean-saving work that Surfers Against Sewage does whilst experiencing the amazing benefits of cold-water swimming.
I’ll be dipping in my local river during the week, popping to the sea at the end of the week and weekends and worst case if I can’t get in the water taking a very cold shower.
There are so many amazing benefits to cold water swimming and enjoying wild blue spaces.
🤗 Help improve your mental health – during a busy work/horsey autumn I’m all for it!
🌊 Boost your immune system – please stay away bugs.
⭐ Connect with a community of like-minded ocean lovers – the Facebook group is buzzing.
💧 Strengthen your connection with nature – I will be going wild and feral again.
Immersing yourself in cold water can calm the chaos, raise your dopamine and give you that zingy post-dip feeling. The Ocean helps us thrive. But it needs help to thrive too. Another reason why I want to take on the Dip a Day challenge this October is to help boost my well-being and raise funds to support SAS ocean-saving campaigns. Because, without a thriving ocean, we can’t thrive either.
If you fancy sponsoring me to help encourage me and support an amazing cause you can donate here
I want to make this challenge social too and will be sharing locations of where I’m dipping so you can join in as well – so keep an eye on my Instagram page @becky_wren or my Facebook page Country Bumpkin Chic
Also, for those who follow me on social might be thinking – well you love the sea, so this is pretty easy for you. Correct – I love the water, but… I’m not a fan of the cold and I do scream pretty much every time I get in. So, to do this every day during October will certainly be a challenge – but a very worthy one.
Of course, I’ll be sharing regular updates on my socials and will try and do a weekly round-up here on Substack.
