Magical Dimpsey Glamping

Magical according to a quick Google search means beautiful or delightful in a way that seems removed from everyday life. And that totally sums up my recent stay in Emma & Andrew Warren’s Hither Hut at Dimpsey Glamping.

Nestled in the Somerset Blackdown Hills on a small farm you’ll find the beautiful Dimpsey Glamping near Chard & all within easy driving distance from the M5. There are two fabulous Shepherd Huts created by Somerset business Blackdown Shepherd Huts to choose from.

The Hither Hut has a pull down double bed, which when tucked away makes for a kitsch area for dining, reading or playing games when the weather turns outside. The space in the Hither Hut is so economical & even has a bunk bed or day bed for extra guests. As well as a place to cook & a gorgeous shower room with lots of beauty treats, lots of places to dine alfresco outside or under cover & don’t forget there’s even a wood fired hot tub!

The newest addition to Dimpsey is Yonder a Blackdown Shepherd Hut double brace, which is like two Hither huts joined together & is the ultimate luxury glamping with a double bed & the most beautiful William Holland slipper bath. This is definitely a must visit for next time!

Myself & best friend Vanessa, who was a blooming 7 months pregnant stayed very comfortably in the Hither Hut on a Thursday night mid July to kick off a long weekend of birthday celebrations & couldn’t have wished for a more perfect stay. So, what better way to share my experience then with some beautiful memories.

Views from the Hither Hut and alfresco dining with the sheep.
Afternoon tea and cake
Greeted by afternoon tea with Doris and Co crockery, chocolate cake and a lovely welcome note from Dimpsey owners Emma and Andrew Warren – such a thoughtful touch.
Equisette equestrian interiors
Never too far from my equestrian friends with these vintage style paintings and prints. There is something majestic about old style hunting paintings.
Kitchen with a view
A kitchen with a view, a singing kettle, gorgeous Doris and Co crockery, and Cowshed hand cream – I felt right at home!
Beautiful bathroom touches
Beautiful bathroom touches, and a cabinet full of beauty delights!
Alfresco dining
Alfresco dining with a pizza oven!
Alfresco fires
So much choice for dining alfresco: pizza oven, open pit fire or chiminea. And that’s smoke coming from the hot tub stoking up.
Wood fire hot tub
The wood fired hot tub of dreams.
Wood fire hot tub
Surely, every birthday weekend should kick off with Pimm’s in the hot tub?
Hot tub at night
The hot tub looked dreamy at night time too, lit up by fairy lights and candle lanterns.
Candlelight Inn
If you do venture out to eat, I highly recommend the Candlelight Inn which is a mile away. Hosts Emma and Andrew are only too happy to drop you off. Make sure you book as it’s super popular. And I totally recommend the burger!
Toasted Marshmallows over the firepit
Is there anything more outdoorsy then toasting marshmallows over an open firepit?
Just add friends
Just add friends, cider and lots of good banter.
Rising moon
And if you’re lucky you might see the moon rise.
Slow morning start
Slow mornings are best started in bed with a cuppa tea reading In the Country magazine and articles on HiHo Silver.
Glamping cat
All glamping experiences need a Dimpsey cat aka Kitty. This pretty much sums up how you’ll feel after a night or two at Dimpsey – chilled out to the max!
Hither Hut
Shepherd hut posing – it’s got to be done!

As you can probably tell, I absolutely adored my overnight stay in the Hither shepherd hut at Dimpsey Glamping, & was very grateful for the experience which was gifted by the lovely Emma Warren as part of my HiHo Silver brand ambassador work. And I’m not biased when I say I would book up again for a Dimpsey Experience in a heart beat. Just ask my friends who are already planning next year’s birthday celebrations.

Whether you’re staying with friends, as a couple or by yourself, you can’t help but experience the magic that Dimpsey has to offer, & the only way to experience is to go!
